Dustin Keller Video: Jets TE Hurts Himself Trying to Hurdle Bills Defenders

Donald WoodNov 6, 2011

The New York Jets team is full of phonies, and apparently tight end Dustin Keller thought he was a hurdler for a minute, but getting hurt was so much more satisfying to watch.

UPDATE: Sunday, Nov. 6, 2:59 p.m. ET by Donald Wood

After one of the silliest moves in the NFL so far this season, Dustin Keller has returned to the game after it was feared that he had suffered a concussion in his previous dabble in track and field.

The New York Jets were making a conscientious effort to get Keller involved, but since coming back into the game, he hasn’t done much besides blocking and being a decoy.

Keller caught the pass and tried to hurdle over the Bills defender who has his lame move scouted all day.

As soon as the tight end goes to jump, the Bills defender stands up and sends Keller head over heels though the air.

Keller lands hard on the side of his head and shoulder, and seems to struggle off the field.

The Jets team is full of players who aren’t sure of their roles. For example, Mark Sanchez thinks he is a quarterback and Keller must have been sitting next to him for too long.

Why in the world he would try to jump the defender is beyond me, but I’m sure he wasn’t taking the future of his team into consideration before he made such a bone-headed move.

Out of all that faux athleticism comes news from ESPN NFL insider John Clayton that Keller may have a concussion. Clayton is reporting on twitter:

"

Dustin Keller suffered a possible concussion. His return is questionable.

"

You never want to see a player get hurt, but it has to be so embarrassing to get hurt trying something you as a tight end have no business trying.

Next time Keller wants to hurdle, Rex Ryan needs to lay on the ground and let him practice off the playing field.
