Mike Williams Tracy Porter Video: Devastating Hit Forces Saints vs. Bucs to Stop

The first few plays of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans divisional matchup have already turned into a wild fight.

On one of the first offensive plays of the day from the Bucs, as seen in the above video, Josh Freeman steps back in his three-step drop and slings a bullet pass to wide receiver Mike Williams.

Williams is running a slant route that is scoped out well by the Saints, and as the ball gets there, so does New Orleans defensive back Tracy Porter.

Porter lays a big hit on Williams, but it is head-first and low on Williams' legs. The hit turns Williams head over heels and leaves both men laid out on the field.

After a few seconds of shaking out the pain, Williams is able to stand up, but Porter isn’t as lucky.

The Saints cornerback was on the ground for a while, and the medics felt it necessary to remove him from the field via cart on a back-board to secure his neck.

As they were removing Porter from the field, he flashed thumbs up to his teammates and the fans, so let’s hope that the trip to the hospital will be just a precaution.

While Sundays are all about fun and the game of football, it can be so much more serious than that.
