BCS Rankings: Projecting the Week 11 Standings

If you’re a fan of defense, you got plenty of it in last night’s “Game of the Century” between LSU and Alabama, a game that turned into a defensive slugfest as anticipated.

Last night was about survival, and LSU proved resourceful enough to come away with a grueling, hard-fought 9-6 victory in overtime to stay perfect and keep its national championship hopes alive.

The loss at home likely knocks Alabama out of national title contention, but it shouldn't drop the Tide too far in this week's BCS standings.

Nick Saban's squad still has an impressive resume and there's no shame in losing to the No. 1 team in the country.

While the Tide may not fall very far, there are still teams like Stanford, Boise State and Oklahoma that are gaining ground and the boys from Tuscaloosa will have to deal with being overtaken by at least one team, Oklahoma State, as the Cowboys will move into the No. 2 spot after a scare from Kansas State last night.

Now, with the LSU-Alabama game in the books, we'll have to turn our attention to next Saturday's Pac-12 showdown between Stanford-Oregon, a game which will have a dramatic effect on the BCS Top 10.

The race to New Orleans is really starting to heat up and there are still a ton of different scenarios for the national championship game.

It should be a fun final four weeks.

For now, though, here's a look at my best guess for how the Week 11 BCS standings will look when they're released tonight.
