Fantasy Football Week 9 Injury Report: Beanie Wells and Injured RBs to Start

Nicholas GossNov 6, 2011

Beanie Wells is one of several running backs who are battling injuries that should be started on your fantasy football team in Week 9 of the NFL season.

BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Reggie Bush are also battling injuries, and each is a good start today.

Let's look at three running backs battling injuries who are worth the risk of starting them.

1. Beanie Wells

Beanie Wells has rushed for 506 yards and seven touchdowns this season, and despite being questionable today he is a smart start against the St. Louis Rams.

He is expected to play according to ESPN.

The Rams are allowing 165.6 yards per game on the ground, and Wells will have a great day against them even if his workload is lessened a bit due to his injury.

Wells' matchup against a poor rushing defense is too good to ignore.

2. LeGarrette Blount

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back LeGarrette Blount is probable today for his team's game against the New Orleans Saints, and will play according to ESPN.

The Buccaneers beat the Saints in Week 6 and match up well against them overall.

Blount will do well against a Saints defense that allows 124.1 rushing yards per game and must be started on Sunday.

3. Mike Tolbert

With San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews hurt this week and missing multiple practices, Mike Tolbert should get a lot of carries this Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.

Tolbert is probable for the matchup, and will almost certainly play and get a ton of carries. Start Tolbert on your fantasy team without any worry.

Not only is he a good runner, his size and strength will allow him to get goal line carries.
