Why Brady Quinn Is NFL's Worst QB If He Can't Play over Tim Tebow

The Denver Broncos, Kyle Orton, John Fox and Brady Quinn are all caught in the web of Tebow mania. As I am sure your aware, there was a large public outcry for Tim Tebow to become the starting quarterback of the Denver Broncos. The more the team and Kyle Orton struggled, the louder the calls for Tebow.

It appears that everyone has overlooked Brady Quinn's unfortunate position. The word out of Broncos training camp was that Quinn outperformed Tebow in just about every way. He was expected to be named the second string quarterback, but Tebow mania cost him that spot. Instead of just naming Quinn the backup, Fox named both Tebow and Quinn the second string quarterback.

There was a point in Quinn's career, when he was the up-and-coming youngster. He was that first round pick, and everyone wanted him to get his opportunity. However, Quinn was unable to lock down a starting role in the NFL.

It appears that Quinn's chances of starting again in the NFL are very slim. This situation in Denver only solidifies his standing in the league. John Fox doesn't believe that Brady Quinn is capable of leading a football team to victories.

If Fox felt that Quinn was capable of playing good football, he would be starting right now, not Tim Tebow. Instead, Fox felt that he had to give into the Tebow pressure. I doubt Fox would have elevated Tebow if he felt Quinn game them a chance to win.

So, it is not that Quinn is not better than Tebow, it's that he isn't capable of playing winning football.  This entire situation has to be impacting Quinn's confidence, which was likely already at an all-time low. I don't see a scenario where Quinn sees the field this season.

Quinn is stuck behind Tebow and Kyle Orton. If Tebow is injured or remains ineffective, it would be Orton who heads back on the field. Quinn is in a terrible situation, but he hasn't done himself any favors. In the NFL, you have to give your coaches no other choice than to play you.
