NFL Week 9 Picks: Falcons vs Colts and Biggest Blowouts

Ryan RudnanskyNov 6, 2011

A win's a win, but a blowout loss isn't just a loss.

As the Indianapolis Colts will tell you, losing 62-7 hurts a lot more than losing a close game.

Unfortunately for the Colts, they haven't even had many close losses.

But Peyton Manning's former squad, that has since disappeared, isn't done losing badly yet. The Colts are just getting started.

My advice?

Stay far away from Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday, because I'm pretty sure there's going to be a riot after the game.

Here are Week 9's biggest blowouts.

3. Cleveland Browns at Houston Texans

I'm not the biggest fan of the Texans, but I dislike the Browns even more (not personally, just professionally).

The Browns have "lost" their starting running back Peyton Hillis, last seen being cursed by the Madden cover, and they just scored 10 points against the San Francisco 49ers.

The Texans may have a worse defense than the 49ers, but their offense is averaging 25.8 points per game, and I see them gradually extending their lead until it's a blowout by the end of the game.

At home, it's not going to matter that star receiver Andre Johnson is sitting out for the Texans.

2. Seattle Seahawks at Dallas Cowboys

I know the Cowboys haven't exactly looked great lately, especially after that humiliating 34-7 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles last week, but they are a better squad than the Seahawks.

The Seahawks are 2-5 and just lost 34-12 to the Cincinnati Bengals. That was after they lost, 6-3, to the Browns.

The Cowboys will be angry after falling to 3-4. If they are going to rebound, this is the best time to start.

1. Atlanta Falcons at Indianapolis Colts

The Falcons haven't played as well this season as in 2010, but they have won their last two games, including against the Detroit Lions in Week 8.

The Colts have a way of giving up a plethora of points (31.8 per game to be exact). That could spell disaster against an offense that sports Roddy White, Michael Turner, Tony Gonzalez and sparkling rookie Julio Jones.

Peyton Manning can grimace all he wants on the sidelines. It's not going to make things any better.
