NFL Picks Week 9: Division Leaders in Danger of Being Upset

Nicholas GossNov 5, 2011

Any bad team can beat a quality opponent in the NFL, and there are several division leaders who are in danger of being upset in Week 9.

Being able to maintain your focus and not take bad teams lightly is a tough task for some teams.

Let's look at three division winners in danger of being upset this week.

Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers go on the road after their Week 8 bye to take on the San Diego Chargers, who are not playing well of late.

The only way to go for the Chargers right now is up, and against the defending Super Bowl champion at home in what serves as a must-win game, San Diego will give an inspired effort.

Quarterback Philip Rivers couldn't play any worse than he has lately, and if he doesn't turn the ball over against the Packers on Sunday he will give the Chargers a chance to win the game.

The New England Patriots have the worst passing defense in football, and against quarterback Eli Manning and the New York Giants this week, the Pats are in real trouble.

Manning has thrown 13 touchdown passes and just five interceptions this season, and has a quality group of receivers to target who won't find it hard to get open.

The Giants have a great opportunity this week to extend their lead in the NFC East and to knock the Patriots out of a tie with the Buffalo Bills for first place in the AFC East.

The Kansas City Chiefs are tied atop the AFC West with a 4-3 record, and have won four straight games. Against the Miami Dolphins this week, however, they will surprisingly have their hands full.

The Dolphins nearly upset the Giants last week on the road before falling 20-17, and will certainly give the Chiefs a run for their money in Week 9.

Dolphins running back Reggie Bush ran for 103 yards last week and against a bad Chiefs rush defense that allows 122.1 yards per game on the ground, Bush will excel again this week.

Miami will run the ball all over the Chiefs, and have a great shot at an upset.
