Jerry Sandusky Sexual Assault Investigation Has Penn State in Hot Water
Penn State has one of the most storied programs in all of college football, and the merit of what it is built on will be coming under heavy fire in the coming days.
The investigation of Penn State Nittany Lions assistant coach Jerry Sandusky on charges that he sexually assaulted a child have resulted in felony charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of someone under 16, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault of someone under 16, indecent assault of someone under 13 and corruption of minors charges have been filed in the state court docket system.
The 67-year-old Sandusky was part of a two-year investigation that the NCAA is now taking a vested interest in.
""Penn State athletic director Tim Curley and another school administrator were charged Saturday with perjury and failure to report in an investigation into allegations that former football defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky sexually abused eight young men, state prosecutors said."
"
Sandusky is widely remembered as one of the best defensive coordinators in college football and one of the biggest reasons the Nittany Lions became known as Linebacker U.
If all of the charges Sandusky is faced with are true and the man is found guilty, that will shed an unspeakable darkness over the Penn State program.
There will be details that come from this case that make people question who knew what was going on, and anything that tarnishes the legacy of the school will tarnish the legacy of Joe Paterno.
I would like to think that this was one man being a degenerate human being, but I feel like there was more classlessness in a potential cover up.
