2011 Breeders Cup: So You Think and Horses to Bet the House On
The 2011 Breeders’ Cup is one of the biggest events of the horse racing season and the $5 million purse makes this race even more important for owners and trainers.
For the second year in a row, the Breeders’ Cup will be held at Churchill Downs and any of the horses that raced in this year’s Kentucky Derby will have the advantage of familiarity.
While we don’t condone betting, that’s what makes horse racing exciting and the following horses are worth a serious consideration.
So You Think
This horse was born to win, and the reason So You Think is the safest pick at the 2011 Breeders’ Cup is the fact that eight of his 11 wins came on tracks similar to Churchill Downs.
This horse has only not shown in two races during his long career, and his experience on 1.25 mile tracks will open him up for a big day.
Havre de Grace
The biggest named filly in the pack, Havre de Grace is one of the best running horses in the field.
The horse has won eight of the last 14 races she has entered, but the confidence comes from the fact that she showed in each race she entered.
Uncle Mo
After winning five of his last seven races, Uncle Mo looks like one of the top favorites for the 2011 Breeders’ Cup, but a lack of experience on a 1.25 mile track could be his downfall.
Uncle Mo has too much talent to not be a contender and you should expect him to show on Saturday evening.
