Nicholas GossNov 5, 2011

Making the right decision on who to start at quarterback is so crucial to the success of your fantasy football team each week.

Carson Palmer is one of many quarterbacks who you must start this week. He has a favorable matchup, which is important to many quarterbacks.

Let's look at three quarterbacks you would be foolish to bench in Week 9 of the NFL season.

1. Carson Palmer

After a forgetful debut with the Oakland Raiders in which he threw three interceptions against the Kansas City Chiefs, the only way to go is up for Carson Palmer.

Palmer has a favorable matchup against the Denver Broncos in Week 9. The Broncos pass defense has given up 249.7 yards per game this season, and they are the perfect team for Palmer to get on track against.

With the addition of wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Palmer has another quality target to throw to because he and Houshmandzadeh played together with the Cincinnati Bengals for many seasons and enjoyed success together.

Palmer will prove his worth against the weak Broncos defense this week, start him on your fantasy team.

2. Josh Freeman

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman has had a disappointing season thus far, but his best game of the year was against the New Orleans Saints on October 16.

Freeman plays the Saints this week and it's a good matchup for him.

In Week 6 against the Saints, Freeman racked up 303 passing yards, his season high. He also threw for two touchdowns with no interceptions.

Freeman plays well against the Saints and it's a matchup you have to take advantage of. The Saints pass defense is giving up about 221 yards per game through the air, and Freeman will add to the Saints pass defense troubles this week.

The New York Giants play the New England Patriots this week with starting running back Ahmad Bradshaw nursing a cracked bone in his foot.

This may be a blessing in disguise for the Giants because they may need to pass more, and against the worst-ranked pass defense in football, the Giants will dominate the Patriots defense.

Eli Manning has thrown for 13 touchdowns this season with just five interceptions, and is third in the NFL in QB rating behind Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers.

Manning will carve up the atrocious Patriots pass defense this week, a unit that has allowed an astounding 323.1 passing yards per game.
