NFL Picks Week 9: Games That Will Be over by Halftime

If someone says a game is over at halftime, what does that mean to you? In some cases, the score may just look ugly. But that's not really what I think is going to happen in these games.

No, these are going to be the kind of games that you look at, and while the final score may not be too bad, there is never a doubt as to which team is going to win as it's happening. 

The scores of these games may or may not get out of hand. But whether or not they do, it won't take long for those watching to know who is going to win.

Atlanta Falcons at Indianapolis Colts

What in the world has happened to the Colts? Okay, that's an obvious answer. When you have one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the game for 13 seasons, you're going to miss him when he misses action.

That's hardly a secret. But this is bad?

As for the Falcons, they are a good team. Yes, they have consistency issues, but that applies to most NFL teams. The Falcons just match up very well to the Colts.

Also, they are a dome team, so some of the normal problems of playing on the road don't even apply here.

Miami Dolphins at Kansas City Chiefs

The Dolphins have actually had some tough losses this year, but I don't see this one being close. 

I don't know that the Chiefs are as good as their four-game winning streak would indicate, but they are playing with a lot of confidence right now, and that makes up for an awful lot. 

On top of that, Arrowhead Stadium is a tough place to play. Look for the competitive portion of this one to end early.

San Francisco 49ers at Washington Redskins

These two teams are going in dramatically different directions, but that's not the only problem the Redskins have.

Their weaknesses play directly into the hands of the 49ers' strengths. The strengths the Redskins do have, like a good pass-rush, can be easily avoided by the 49ers.

After 30 minutes, there will be no doubt as to which team is going to win this one.
