NFL Week 9 Predictions: Projecting the Biggest Fantasy Football Duds

Chris TrapassoNov 4, 2011

You're killing me, Chris Johnson.

Well actually, you're killing the tens of thousands of fantasy owners that drafted you with their first-overall pick this year.

You too, Philip Rivers

You had an MVP-type season last year; what's up with all these turnovers?

These guys have driven us absolutely crazy this season. But to be more specific, which players will be the biggest duds in Week 9?

(Yes, I think Johnson will be bad again this week, and Javon Ringer might even trump him in carries.)

Joe Flacco

Why are you starting Flacco in the first place?

You get a great performance out of him like once every four games. Nothing against Flacco—he's won in the playoffs and all—but did you see what the Steelers did to Tom Brady last week? I expect a lot of dump-offs to Ray Rice and not much of anything else.

Dud.

Ryan Torain

He's another one. Shanahan will ride him one game, and he'll rack up 124 yards on 23 carries. Then he'll deliver three straight stinkers, sending you to the bottom of your league.

He faces the 49ers' top-ranked run defense, and we saw how poorly the offensive line blocked for him against a Bills defense that was atrocious against the run leading into their matchup with the Redskins last week.

Roddy White

White hasn't played like he did last season, and I envision the Falcons running Michael Turner early and often to get a big lead in this one.

Obviously, the most risky of my selections; but with a decent size lead in the second half, Atlanta won't need to utilize him, and I haven't seen a ton of big plays from him this season.

He averages a mere 10.9 yards per catch.

Not great for fantasy owners.
