AFC Pro Bowl Offensive Skill Players Through Week 8
While I do not recommend voting this early in the season because so many things can change, here is a list of the skill players in the AFC that are worthy of your vote after eight full weeks of play in the NFL.
QB: Tom Brady, New England Patriots
1 of 7Tom Brady is putting up huge numbers once again this season. He has already thrown for 2,361 yards and 18 touchdowns this season.
Ben Roethlisberger and Matt Schaub would be the next two guys for the AFC, but their numbers are not even close to Brady's at this point.
RB: Fred Jackson, Buffalo Bills
2 of 7Fred Jackson is one of the biggest surprises of 2011. He is putting up monster numbers. He has rushed for 703 yards and six touchdowns this season. He also has 353 yards receiving. Those numbers put him well on pace for more than 2,000 yards from scrimmage this season.
RB: Arian Foster, Houston Texans
3 of 7Arian Foster got off to slow start because of an injury, but he has been producing the last few weeks. He has put up 532 yards rushing and 317 yards receiving in just six games. He also has five total touchdowns.
His numbers will end up close to where they were last year if he can stay healthy for the second half.
WR: Wes Welker, New England Patriots
4 of 7Wes Welker has slowed down a little bit the last couple of weeks, but his numbers on the season are ridiculous. In seven games he has 57 catches for 824 yards and six touchdowns.
It really looks like Welker is going to take a run at Marvin Harrison's single-season receptions record of 143.
WR: Mike Wallace, Pittsburgh Steelers
5 of 7Mike Wallace has become a complete receiver. He has 800 yards and five touchdowns in eight games.
He is doing more than catching just the deep ball this year. His underneath route running has really improved over the last two seasons.
WR: A.J. Green, Cincinnati Bengals
6 of 7A.J. Green has made a huge impact on the Bengals in his rookie season. He already has 516 yards and five touchdowns through seven games.
Green will get better as the season progresses, so look for him to put up some monster numbers in the second half.
TE: Rob Gronkowski, New England Patriots
7 of 7Rob Gronkowski has made a huge impact in his first season-and-a-half with the Patriots. He hauled in 10 touchdown passes in his rookie campaign.
This season he already has 495 yards receiving and five touchdowns.
