Trent Glaze Video: Watch High-Schooler Score Touchdown in Wheelchair
Don't ever think that dreams can't come true because of a hardship. Trent Glaze just got to realize the one thing he wanted more than anything, and he is still living off the adrenaline of that moment.ย
Glaze suffers from muscular dystrophy, a disorder that prevents him from playing football, but that didn't stop him from becoming the biggest part of the team.ย
This video captured from ABC News tells the story of Glaze dropping the sorrow he felt for himself and instead putting thoughts into action. Now a senior, the Fairfield High student joined the football team as aย sophomoreย in the capacity that he could.ย
He watched hours ofย footageย and got on guys when they were slacking off. The passion, enthusiasm and dedication he showed earned him the highest honors as he became the team's captain.ย
While the story could have ended there with nary a dry eye in the house, it didn't. You see, the dream has always been to play in a game, something that Glaze was able to do with the help of his team and the opposingย Teays Valley High School.ย
After Fairfield lost to Teays Valley, the two teams lined up once more and brought Glaze onto the field. The ball was snapped. He got the ball, and the crowd roared... just like most of us have dreamed as our minds wandered as kids.ย
Glaze got to live that dream as he took the ball into the end zone all while his teammates rushed to congratulate him for the effort. You have to imagine that the wave of good feelings swarmed over the field. In the middle was Glaze, who received the love of everyone present.ย
Asked if he ever thinks these feelings will ever wane, Glaze states with a smile, "No, I don't think they ever will."
And thank goodness for that.ย
