WWE Survivor Series 2011: Top 5 WWE Superstars Who Need Matches

Justin WatryNov 4, 2011

WWE Survivor Series is coming up in a few weeks. There is not much time left to build up anticipation for the big event. While some matches are already set, there are a few WWE Superstars that are not currently on the card.

For one reason or another, I really feel a couple guys should get a little bit of Madison Square Garden spotlight at Survivor Series. Here are the top five...

REMINDER: I am now on Twitter! Feel free to add/follow me! Thanks.

5. The Rock

1 of 5

Let me explain.

With all the hype added to this comeback for The Rock; with all the build around him and John Cena; with all the expectations surrounding this match—The Rock needs to show up and wrestle!

There better not be a "bait and switch" tactic like we saw on Monday night with Michael Cole and Jim Ross. Rocky has to be there and added to the match. Expectations are high, as they should be for The Rock to deliver in New York City!

He can't just stand on the ring apron. He can't show up, only to be attacked by R-Truth backstage or involved in something like running over Stone Cold (injured) in 1999. He needs to be in the ring.

4. Zack Ryder

2 of 5

I am not a big fan of Zack Ryder. I don't care about his "Woo Woo Woo" gimmick. His entire "broski" language has a limited shelf life and a limited audience (Long Island or internet fans).

That being said, Survivor Series is taking place at New York City's famed Madison Square Garden. Can you imagine the crowd response this kid would get during his entrance? How about even winning the United States title?

Whether I like the guy or not is irrelevant here. The "smarky" fans in New York are going to treat this guy like a hero, and it would make for great television. You know it!

3. Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes is getting there. He is not there yet, but the main event ceiling is almost calling out his name! However, there is no need to rush this man to the top. He will get there.

Having him defeat Randy Orton right now means nothing. Orton winning the feud is the right move. Rhodes defeating him down the line is where the payoff is.

That being said, I want Rhodes to be on every PPV show for the next six months. It is not too much to expect for a rising star like Mr. Rhodes. The current Intercontinental Champion will get a nice spot at Survivor Series, and it is well deserved!

2. Alex Riley

4 of 5

Yes, I am a huge fan of Alex Riley. He has "future headliner" written all over him. When you talk about the "it" factor, he has it. I saw it on Season 2 of NXT, and I still see it.

While he is now healed from his recent injury, now is the time to strike! I don't want him to do anything major. I am realistic, not a "fantasy booker." A spot on a Survivor Series tag team or even the dark match before the show begins.

This man needs to start getting some momentum again. His injury may have sidelined him for a little while, but he is ready to go now!

Those doubting this man may want to start backing him now because the bandwagon can only get so full before you are not allowed on it anymore...Mark Henry ring a bell anyone?

1. John Morrison

5 of 5

This man defines the word needs better than anyone. He needs something. He needs anything to bring himself back from his current position.

I have suggested he be moved to FCW. I once even said John Morrison should shave his head and grow a goatee. Won't hurt, right? I even suggested he change his name to Job Morrison!

This man just needs to be on this PPV card. Whether it is in a squash match against Brodus Clay or a dark match with Jobby Curtis. He needs a "spark" for his WWE run.

Right now, WWE.com has a story posted about how Morrison has lost "his MoJo." Well, he has lost everything else the past few months, why not "his MoJo" as well?

I am hereby adding a new nickname to this man. He is no longer the Prince of Parkour. He is now being named the Prince of Planking!

Will he be flat on the ground at Survivor Series? Will he put on a classic match for the entire world to stand up and take notice? Or will nothing happen and life goes on? I don't know, but he needs to be on the show or else WWE.com may have a new headline about him very soon.
