Breeders' Cup 2011: Why Juvenile Fillies Is Can't-Miss Race of the Year

Kyle VassaloNov 4, 2011

All eyes are going to be on the classic when the Breeders' Cup rolls around, but it's the Juvenile Fillies that the world should really be fixated upon.

The race is so wide open that it's absolutely impossible to pick a favorite. The Classic obviously puts forth Cinderella story Uncle Mo and a number of promising contenders like So You Think, but the possibilities surrounding the Juvenile Fillies are endless.

Anyone who says they've got an idea as to who is going to take the Juvenile Fillies is kidding themselves. With My Miss Aurelia, WeeMissFrankie, Grace Hall and Candrea all having 6-1 odds or better, there are far too many promising horses to legitimately have confidence in any one of them.

The incredibly short 1/16-mile race makes even the longest shot in the race a contender. No horse is out of it and even the front runners aren't a lock to show.

The ambiguity in this race makes it the can't-miss race of the year. While horse racing is unpredictable by nature, this race takes it to a completely different level.

Everyone is going to gather around and watch the Classic, but if you can only watch one race, make sure it's the Juvenile Fillies.

Your guess as to who is going to walk away with this race is just as good as the experts'. This is horse racing at its finest, and the most compelling race of the entire Breeders' Cup is sure to deliver.
