Week 9 Fantasy Football Start Em Sit Em: Don't Be Fooled by Knowshon Moreno

Don’t let him fool you my fantasy friends.

Time and time again it looks like Knowshon Moreno is poised for a breakout during his 2.5 years in the NFL.

Time and time again he has disappointed his owners tremendously.

He can’t stay healthy, is a horrific blocker and isn’t capable of breaking tackles in the middle of the field.

Moreno has barely racked up 100 yards on the season despite playing in five of his teams seven games.

It’s pitiful.

Once again he has teased you by putting up 69 yards against the horrific Lions defense. Should you start him against the Oakland Raiders?

Not in a million years.

The only reason he got 14 carries last week was because starter Willis McGahee has a broken hand. He has vowed to play, but it’s pretty hard to have good ball protection with one hand. His status for Week 9 is still up in the air.

McGahee wasn’t even supposed to be the starter considering he is 30-years-old (ancient for running backs) and got limited action the last few years with the Baltimore Ravens.

So you think Moreno has to succeed if given roughly 15 carries against Oakland?

Wrong.

The Raiders front four featuring Richard Seymour is monstrous and have already completely shut down Moreno once this year. In Week 1 as the starter, Moreno ran for a putrid 22 yards on eight carries, 2.8 yards per carry average.

He can’t handle the brute strength and physicality of the first line and it’s never more evident than when he plays the Raiders.

What makes matters worse is Tim Tebow.

He may not be able to throw a 10-yard slant, but the dude can tuck and run. He averages 6.1 yards per carry, an incredible stat for a quarterback.

He is the main running option for a Broncos offense that features absolutely no balance.

Moreno is nothing more than a fantasy tease that should be avoided at all costs...don’t be his next victim.
