2011 Breeders Cup: Game on Dude Will Surprise with Uncle Mo's Issues Rising

The Breeders Cup Classic is a day away yet I can't help but address this nagging feeling I have. I was all over the Uncle Mo bandwagon, but on further review, I am anything but confident about him taking the Classic. 

I will not argue that Uncle Mo is the best story to hit the Breeders Cup. After dropping tremendous weight due to a liver condition, his career was very much in question. 

The fact that Uncle Mo has come back to be the odds on favorite at the Breeders Cups is nothing short of remarkable. If he crosses that line before all others, I will be on my feet with the rest of you. 

As we go along and pick apart the field, it seems all the more likely that another steed will take home the ultimate glory. My money is on Game on Dude to surprise with a flourishing race that culminates in a spirited drive to the finish line. 

Uncle Mo may have won at Belmont Park in the Kelso Handicap at one mile, but the mile and quarter will test the limits of Uncle Mo's endurance. 

I also don't like where Uncle Mo is coming from on the 12th post. You will hear a lot about So You Think being sneaky hot, but i find it hard to believe a horse that has never run on dirt will find the legs to endure such lengths against such a field. 

If you are looking for a horse to upset the field it has to be Game on Dude. He has the power to assert himself early and the position of good fortune as he comes out of gate 8. 

I love Chantal Sutherland to get in there and mix it up with the aggressive running that this race needs. The field will be keyed in on shutting out Havre de Grace leaving Game on Dude to run at his own pace. 

The way things are lining up a day before the big race, I can't help but see gloom and doom for Uncle Mo and a day of glory for Game on Dude.
