NFL Week 9 Picks: Predictions Who'll Be Jacked Up, Fall Flat
If we've learned anything from the NFL, it's that anything can and frequently does happen on Sunday (or Monday). Just when you think you've got everything figured out, some crazy upset happens and everyone is left scratching their heads with one hand and texting their buddies with the other, asking them if they just saw the same thing you saw.
In taking a look at Bodog, you'll see some point spreads, or over/under numbers. Most of them look okay, but some just look quite out of place. That's what we're looking at here.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Obviously, the nature of an over/under is that some people think it will be over and some think it will be under. But usually, the number is close.
An over/under of 51 would imply that the final score will be 26-25, or at least that will be the average final score.
The losing team scoring 25 sounds about right, but the winning team being held to 26 doesn't quite make sense to me.
Frankly, you would need to add 10 to this spread to be a little more likely. I actually like a combined number of around 65 points.
Tennessee Titans (-3) vs. Cincinnati Bengals
Until Chris Johnson plays well, the Titans won't beat any team in the NFL that's even average. The Bengals are an above average team.
I don't care that this game is in Tennessee, or if the Bengals are still a bit of an unknown entity. They will take this one by at least ten points, which would be a 13-point difference from the spread.
The Bengals may not win games at the same percentage in the second half as they have thus far, but Tennessee is just not that good.
Houston Texans (-11) vs. Cleveland Browns
Unlike the Bengals at Titans game, I actually agree with Bodog in that I think the Texans will win. But the Browns defense is a good unit, perfectly capable of making the Texans one-dimensional.
Cleveland will not win this game because their offense is abysmal. While we're on the subject, an over/under of 41 may be a little ambitious too. But I can see this game getting close to that.
I can't say the same about an 11-point win. Houston needs to prove themselves a little more before being worthy of that spread. Against a defense like the the Browns, they will win, just close.
