Who's the Favorite After Eight Games?
The NFL has seen some pretty significant changes over the past few games. No longer are the Indianapolis Colts the favorites to win the AFC this year. The Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants aren’t really being looked at as real contenders. The Kansas City Chiefs, a playoff team last year, really haven’t done much to impress anyone.
But some of the teams that we had thought would be in the mix are still remaining part of the playoff picture. The Green Bay Packers are still undefeated and looking like a tough team to beat. The Patriots appear to have their faults but can win a game at any time and still remain one of the better teams in the NFL. The Steelers still look like a tough team and San Diego is looking good.

But aside from the Packers and maybe a couple of other teams there aren’t any real big-time teams out there this year. The Packers are about the only ones that anyone considers being consistent.
So which teams are the favorites to go all the way at this point in the season? The afore mentioned Packers are definitely the favorite to win the NFC. There aren’t too many other teams in that conference that can compete with the Packers.
The AFC is a little bit more open than the NFC. The top teams in the AFC right now are the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Buffalo Bills, the Cincinnati Bengals and the New England Patriots. The Bills and the Bengals are a surprise and we aren’t sure if and just how long they will be able to keep things up. The Steelers and the Patriots are always in the hunt for the playoffs but can they get back to the big game this year?
It looks like the Steelers just might be the better team in the AFC right now but that’s bound to change. The AFC is a tough conference and right now most anyone is still in the hunt to represent the conference in the Super Bowl.
But the best chances lie with the Steelers who are proving themselves to be the top team in the AFC at this time.
The big question in the NFC is whether or not someone can knock off the Packers. Some might have thought that the Saints would be able to do that but they have struggled lately and aren’t looking like a playoff team. The 49ers are good but not good enough to beat the Packers.
So, is there anyone that can unseat them from the top of the NFC? Not just yet.
There still could, depending on what happens the remainder of the season. Someone else will have to step up and be that second strong team in the NFC. There has to be someone that could take on the Packers but the question is will there be?
