Week 10 College Football Predictions: Elite Teams That Will Struggle to Cover

In college football it’s usually easy to pick out which teams are going to either cover or flat out win games. However, there are games where the elite level teams in matchups have grossly misguided the betting lines.

Here are the games this week where the favorites may have a tough time covering the betting lines.

Louisville at West Virginia (-13)

West Virginia is a team that is the best of the Big East and should be the conference’s representative in a BCS bowl. However, they have had trouble covering ball games in the past two weeks. 

Two weeks ago, they dropped a game against Syracuse where they were heavily favored. Then last week they did win against Rutgers, but it was a lot closer than it should have been, as West Virginia won 41-31. 

This week against Louisville, who is tied with WVU for second in the conference, WVU might find the game a lot tougher than the betting line suggests.

Predicted Score: WVU 38 - Louisville 31

Texas A&M at Oklahoma (-13.5)

Texas A&M at one time was one of the top teams in the Big 12. In fact if they did not blow not one, not two but three big halftime leads this season they would be undefeated this year. 

However, they have three losses and are well outside of the Big 12 title picture. 

On the other hand, Oklahoma with one loss is still as much in the Big 12 title picture and BCS title picture. They responded after their disappointing loss to Texas Tech, by crushing Kansas State. 

This week, they have a very tough game against the Aggies team that has nothing to lose now. Oklahoma should win at home, but this game will be very unnerving for Sooner fans to watch.

Predicted Score: Oklahoma 45 Texas A&M 42

Kansas State at Oklahoma State (-21)

The oddsmakers have apparently forgotten about how just a week ago Kansas State was ranked in the Top 10 of the BCS. But one loss to Oklahoma has set this team back. They will not lose this week like they did to Oklahoma at home last week.

Oklahoma State will not be able to throw all over this Kansas State defense like the Sooners did last week. The Cowboys will win this game, thus moving into one of the top two spots of the BCS Standings, but it will not come easy.

Predicted Score: Oklahoma State 35 - Kansas State 21

Three games where you should take the underdog in. You will be getting a lot of points and will have an easy time seeing your team cover their spreads.
