Liga BBVA: Predictions for Round 11 Fixtures of La Liga

Mikhail TurnerNov 3, 2011

Round 11 of La Liga returns this weekend and—in a sense—normal service has been resumed.

Real Madrid and Barcelona return to first and second in the standings while teams like Athletic Bilbao and Atletico Madrid continue their respective paths up the league.

Here are the predictions for Round 11 of La Liga.

TOP NEWS

Real Madrid CF v Girona FC - LaLiga EA Sports
Real Betis V Real Madrid - Laliga Ea Sports

Mallorca vs Sevilla

Both teams were on the losing side in the last round, and for Sevilla it's their first loss of the season. Mallorca's defensive record hasn't been great so far but Sevilla has only managed to tie its away games.

Prediction: Tie 1-1

Real Betis vs Malaga

Real Betis continues its slide down the table with a sixth-traight loss but Malaga finally stopped its slide. It seems luck is not on Betis's side at the moment and even at home they are not favorites for this one.

Prediction: Malaga win 2-1

Levante vs Valencia

Levante finally lost. Fortunately for them, their next game is at home where they are undefeated. Unfortunately, Valencia is the opposition. Only two points separate these teams but Levante will surely be wary about a possible slide like Real Betis.

Prediction: Tie 2-2

Real Madrid vs Osasuna

Real Madrid is still on a hot run of form and show no signs of stopping. With a one point lead in the league Madrid will want to keep the pressure on Barcelona.

Osasuna was the first team to beat Levante and knock them off the top of the table, they will look to repeat that feat with Madrid this weekend.

Prediction: Real Madrid win 3-0

Zaragoza vs Sporting Gijon

Zaragoza and Gijon have underwhelmed so far this season. Both team have dismal goal differentials and almost similar records. There will not be too much separating these teams except possibly home advantage.

Prediction: Sporting Gijon win 1-0

Granada CF vs Racing Santander

Granada provided the league with another upset after a late win over Sevilla and Racing Santander finally got into the win column. The team with the momentum has the the upper-hand here.

Prediction: Granada win 1-0

Espanyol vs Villarreal

Espanyol has won five and lost five so far this season and there is currently a five point difference between them and Villarreal. The Yellow Submarine is finding it hard to get out of the bottom half of the league.

Prediction: Espanyol win 1-0

Rayo Vallecano vs Sociedad

Rayo Vallecano is having a decent run of it so far and remain a few spots outside the relegation zone. Sociedad has only won once away from home and they are not likely to improve upon that record.

Prediction: Rayo Vallecaon win 1-0

Athletic Bilbao vs Barcelona

Athletic Bilbao may be climbing up the league little by little, but they are facing the wrong team to to help them continue that ascent.

Barcelona remain unbeaten in the league and that should not change after this game.

Prediction: Barcelona win 3-1

Getafe vs Atletico Madrid

Getafe is struggling at the bottom of the league but they have gained six of their seven points at home.

Atletico Madrid has seen more positive results in recent weeks and will want that run to continue against opponents such as Getafe

Prediction: Atletico Madrid win 2-0
