LSU vs. Alabama: Dual-QB Attack of LSU Will Overwhelm Crimson Tide
It’s hard enough to game-plan for one quarterback, but two quarterbacks that both lead the No. 1 team in college football is almost impossible to prepare for. It’s why it will be a headache for the best scoring defense in the SEC to contain this dynamic LSU Tigers attack.
Now, it’s easy to predict and give your points as to why either LSU or Alabama will win on Saturday.
Everyone from San Francisco Giants closer Brian Wilson, who is picking LSU since he played for LSU’s baseball team...
...to WWE Announcer Jim Ross, who is picking Alabama for no reason but that’s who he thinks is going to win, seems to have an opinion.
But for those of you who are still on the fence, just know that the combination of Jordan Jefferson, who is always a threat to throw or run for a big gain, and Jarrett Lee, who is the cerebral assassin of the team, throwing for 13 touchdowns and only one interception, is a lethal one.
Alabama’s Dont’a Hightower knows that facing these two quarterbacks is going to be a tough task, saying, “When Jordan Jefferson’s in the game, he likes to run. When Jarrett (Lee)’s in there, they aren’t going to do as many quarterback runs. You just have to be aware of how they like to disguise those guys.”
The dual-quarterback system for LSU isn’t something that they are going to throw at the Alabama defense for the first time this year. Since Jefferson came back from his suspension, the Tigers have outscored teams 159-35 over four games.
In all four games, each player has combined for a touchdown in the game. In two of the four games, each of the players have combined for two to three passing touchdowns, with Jefferson being able to open up the rushing game when he was in the game.
The game will be a defensive struggle on both sides. But the prevailing team will be the one who has the better quarterback play.
Alabama is a lot worse off at quarterback than LSU. If ‘Bama wants to take away the LSU passing game, then the Tide will get crushed by Jefferson. If ‘Bama wants to take away the rushing game, then they will get picked apart by Lee.
Either way, it’s going to lead to a victory for the No. 1 team in the country, the LSU Tigers.
