Indianapolis Greyhounds at Indiana Hoosiers Exhibition Game Preview

The Indiana Hoosiers open their 2011-2012 season on Saturday night against the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds at 7:00 P.M. in Assembly Hall.

The Hoosiers have high hopes entering this season after they have struggled the last few seasons under head coach Tom Crean.

This year proves to be different for the Hoosiers. They return everyone but Jeremiah Rivers and add Indiana Mr. Basketball Cody Zeller.

Everyone will be anxious for Zeller's debut Saturday night in the "Hall."

The game won't count in the season's win-loss record in being it's an exhibition game, but it will be a great tune-up for the Hoosiers.

U of I is looking to knock off a major D-1 opponent for the second year in a row.

The Greyhounds beat then No. 23 Tennessee last year in Knoxville 79-64 on the Vols home court.

The year before last the Greyhounds beat another D-1 opponent Valparaiso on their home court as well 88-83.

The Hoosiers better bring their "A" game because these Greyhounds come to play.

The Greyhounds are coming off of their sixth trip to the DII NCAA Tournament with a 19-9 overall record last year.

U of I last played in Bloomington against the Hoosiers on November 10th, 2006. IU won easily 83-46 that night.

The year before the Hoosiers played the Greyhounds once again in an exhibition game and won easily like the previous year 96-49.
