2011 Fantasy Football: Deep Sleepers for Week 9

James Hatfield Nov 3, 2011

Looking into Week 9, it is again time to dive deep to find those extra players to use as spot starters...

Wide Receiver

Jon Baldwin (Kansas City Chiefs): He is a huge target in KC and has upside this week.  I would beware that he could be a bust this weekend, but if you are in dire need, you can gamble here if the waiver wire is super thin.

Plaxico Burress (New York Jets): TD-only leagues, take note of this huge target.  He finally broke out a couple weeks ago, and he should be good for one TD.

Antonio Brown (Pittsburgh Steelers): By now he is most likely not on your waiver wire, but if he is on the waiver wire, you need to grab him quickly.  He is incredibly talented, and we will continue to see quality numbers from Brown.

Victor Cruz (New York Giants): Hakeem Nicks will miss this week, and Cruz will throw up some numbers 70+ yards with potential to score.

Eric Decker (Denver Broncos): Decker is drawing tons of targets from Tim Tebow.  I am not too excited about starting Broncos, but Decker has the upside and is a good PPR start.

Julio Jones (Atlanta Falcons): He is back and will catch fire this week 75+ yards with TD upside.  Go Julio.

Greg Little (Cleveland Browns): He is a target monster and will continue to draw Colt McCoy's attention.  If Colt can connect with Little, he will have lots of upside. He could be a bust this week, but he has a chance to throw up 50+ yards and a TD.

Running Back

Michael Bush (Oakland Raiders): Darren McFadden is in a boot right now, and Bush will take the reigns again this week.  Looking for 75+ yards and a TD.

Chris Ogbonnaya (Cleveland Browns): Montario Hardesty is out. Peyton Hillis is banged up but may play this weekend.  Chris O. will get carries regardless and will also make some catches; I am looking for 50 yards total with a potential TD.

Javon Ringer (Tennessee Titans): Running-back-by-committee will happen in Tennessee.  Ringer will get 50 percent of the load and should see 8 to 10 touches and 3 to 4 catches this week... that should equate to 50+ yards with a potential TD.

Quarterback

Andy Dalton (Cincinnati Bengals): Dalton is doing well for a rookie, and I tend to look to him for bye week fill-ins.

Tight End

Jake Ballard (New York Giants): With Hakeem Nicks out, Ballard will see more targets.  I wouldn't be surprised to see a TD from Ballard this week.
