NFL Power Rankings Week 9: Disappointing Teams That Will Fade into Oblivion
We have reached a point in the NFL season where it is time to just give up on disappointing teams that either have talent or started the season hot but can't seem to get out of their own way now.
Talent can only get a team so far in this league, and eventually you have to be able to prove that the mental mistakes that have cost you before are a thing of the past. Unfortunately, there are just some teams that can't do that.
Maybe it is our fault for placing expectations on them because they managed to win a game or two that they shouldn't have earlier in the season. But regardless of why a team continues to disappoint, the fact that it is happening should be enough for us to say that it's over.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Here are teams that have been disappointments this season that will continue to slide deeper into purgatory.
Dallas Cowboys
At some point, the illusion of what could be has to give way to the reality of what is. The Dallas Cowboys have a ton of talent on both offense and defense, but they have not been in-sync all season long.
As a result, the ‘Boys are going to have to deal with yet another disappointing season. They are 3-4 right now with a game against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 9.
While that game is winnable for Dallas, the inconsistent nature of the team makes it impossible to expect them to be anything but a lower-tier team in the power rankings for the rest of the season.
Washington Redskins
When Rex Grossman started the season playing well, there was some talk that Mike Shanahan’s genius had worked a miracle and the Redskins could remain competitive in the NFC East.
Now, after four losses in five games and a quarterback change, the Redskins are playing like the team we all thought they would be.
Not even an endorsement from Mickey Rourke is going to be enough to change the fortunes of the Redskins this season. They should get comfortable at the bottom of the power rankings because they are going to be there for a long time.
San Diego Chargers
Is it wrong to have mental cramps when watching a sports team? That is what happens every time I see the Chargers play. They have the talent to be a great team, but the execution is so terrible that it is physically painful to watch.
Philip Rivers went from being one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL to being unable to handle a snap from his center with his team in position to win a crucial road game.
Norv Turner better not sit down anywhere because his seat is on fire right now, which is probably a good thing for the Chargers. Maybe Rex Ryan was right about this team.
