Peyton Hillis Completely Destroys Image by Ignoring Charity Event

Peyton Hillis is screwing up again, but it seems that this has become a regular thing this season for the Browns running back.

After a 1,177-yard, 11 touchdown season in 2010, Hillis became a Browns and fantasy favorite for his bruising, effective, blue collar rushing style. Hillis was rewarded for this by winning a popular vote to be on the cover of Madden 2012.

Now Hillis seems ‘cursed’ as he seems completely unable to produce on the field and now isn’t even living up to his promises and obligations to those less fortunate away from the gridiron.

The Browns RB was supposed to attend a Boys & Girls Club Halloween party where he would meet children and pass out candy.

He tried to explain,

"I just want to say I'm sorry about the charity event with the Boys and Girls Club," said Hillis, who has missed Cleveland's past two games with a hamstring injury. "There was a lot of miscommunication between me and the management that I had, and if I knew the full depths of it, I wouldn't have missed it.

I've always made community events before, (but) that shouldn't be an excuse now. Like I said, I'm sorry about everything, and hopefully in the near future, we can be able to make that up."

How could Hillis have possibly forgot about this? It’s not like he ever sees the field anymore for the Browns, so he should at least do some charity work for whatever remaining fans he has left in Cleveland.

Seriously, Peyton has 60 rushes for 211 yards and two touchdowns this entire season. He is quickly being affixed the one-year-wonder label. Why is he destroying his personal life and missing charitable obligations that he has more than enough time to go to?

LeCharles Bentley, a former Browns offensive lineman, was hosting the event and wasn’t scared to let the world know his feelings on this move. He said via Twitter,

He’s got a point. With Hillis making plenty money to not play football, he should at least be helping out the community instead of being completely worthless.
