Packers vs. Chargers: TV Schedule, Live Streaming, Radio, Game Time and More
The Green Bay Packers have yet to lose this season, but they're going to have their work cut out for them in this Sunday's contest at the San Diego Chargers.
This is not to say the Chargers aren't going to have their own work cut out for them, of course. They're in a bit of a funk at the moment, not to mention a two-game losing streak. Still, they're going to be at home, and they should have some renewed energy after playing three straight games on the road.
As for the Packers, all they have to do is carry on as they've been carrying on.

What's At Stake?
The Packers are looking to keep their perfect record intact, but I would say that the Chargers have a lot more riding on this game. They need to pull out of their two-game losing streak, and will likely fall out of a first place tie in the AFC West if they don't.
Packers Injury Report
The Packers are dealing with a couple injuries, but the big one at the moment is Clay Matthews' injured quad. The good news is that the team's official website listed Matthews as a full participant in Wednesday's practice, so he should be good to go.
Tackle Chad Clifton and defensive end Mike Neal have already been ruled out.
Chargers Injury Report
Per their website, Chargers held a lot of players out of Wednesday's practice, including wide receivers Vincent Jackson and Malcom Floyd and running back Ryan Mathews. On the bright side, running back Mike Tolbert was a full participant, meaning he should be ready to return to action against the Packers.
Fantasy Start Em: Mike Tolbert
Indications are (see SportingNews.com) that Ryan Mathews is going to be iffy for gameday, and it will be up to Tolbert to carry the load if he can't go. Consider Tolbert a high-reward player, as he just might repeat his three-touchdown performance from Week 1.
Fantasy Sit Em: Philip Rivers
I'm dead serious. Rivers has struggled all season with interceptions, and he's going up against a Packers team that is second in the NFL with 13 of them. They've picked off at least two passes in five of their last six games. This is not a good matchup for Rivers.
Fantasy Sleeper: Nick Novak
Why not a kicker? Novak has been racking up the field goals in recent weeks, which is thanks in large part to the fact that the Chargers have struggled mightily to finish drives. Against a defense as good as Green Bay's, that could be the case once again.
What They're Saying
Mike Vandermause of the Green Bay Press-Gazette penned a good column about how the Packers are trying very hard not to let all the hype get to their heads.
Here's an excerpt:
"The Packers can’t help but hear the compliments, but they’re trying very hard to ignore them.
“We’re not drinking the Kool-Aid,” said Packers safety Charlie Peprah on Monday.
In other words, no matter how crowded the Packers’ bandwagon becomes or how many superlatives get spit out by the propaganda machine, team members refuse to get mesmerized by the extensive publicity.
"
It's okay, Packers. People will start ignoring you once you lose a game.
Or not.
Meanwhile in San Diego, Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune wants everyone to stop freaking out about Philip Rivers. If you look beyond the botched snap, Rivers was actually very good in Monday night's overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Here's your excerpt:
"But in the ongoing effort to deduce the direction in which Rivers is moving, it must be pointed out that against the Chiefs -- in between his starting the game 2-for-8 for 25 yards with two interceptions and the botched snap with a minute left in regulation -- there were the greatest signs this season that Rivers is still the player the Chargers have counted on for so long and need him to be again.
The numbers are enough: He completed 24 of his final 33 passes for 344 yards.
Moreover, he was fantastic in the fourth quarter. He stayed alive, made plays, kept his cool and directed extended drives.
"
Maybe so. But still, the Tony Romo comparisons are largely justified.
Packers Player to Watch: Aaron Rodgers
Just watch him. Rodgers is the best quarterback in the NFL right now, and watching him do his thing is like watching a great work of art come together. He's incredibly precise with his passes, and he doesn't play favorites with his receivers. You gotta love him.
Chargers Player to Watch: Philip Rivers
I hate to double up on the quarterbacks here, but it's all about Rivers in San Diego right now. He has disappointed in a big way this year, and he could really use a good game on Sunday. I obviously have my doubts (see above), but that doesn't mean Rivers isn't worth monitoring.
Sorry for the double-negative, too.
Key Matchup
Statistically, the Chargers have the league's fourth-best pass defense. Rodgers is going to put that to the test, and the Chargers must limit him if they hope to have a shot at winning this game. If they don't, this game could be another romp for the Packers.
On the Hot Seat
Gotta put Norv Turner here. You have to think that his job is going to be in jeopardy if he doesn't get his team to turn it around this season. Given what we know about him, Turner may not be capable of changing his fate. It's up to him to prove otherwise.
Prediction
It's going to be hard for the Chargers to play much worse than they did against Kansas City, but they're going to have to elevate their game to very lofty heights to beat the Packers. I would be shocked if the Chargers didn't show a little extra competitive fire, but I don't think it's going to be enough.
Packers 24, Chargers 20
