Week 9 Fantasy Football Rankings: Tony Romo and Players That Will Fail Miserably

T.J. McaloonNov 2, 2011

In the fantasy football world there are players that are hard to sit, because they have reputations of being fantasy all-stars. These players usually have great games by putting up big numbers that end up winning games by themselves. However, this week you have to sit some of these players, because they will fail miserably.

It will be hard to bench these players, but step away from your personal attachments to these stars. Check your waiver wire for replacements and watch as you win your Week 9 game.

Tony Romo: QB, Dallas Cowboys

Tony Romo is your typical feast-or-famine quarterback. He will throw for 325 yards with three touchdowns, which is great, but he will have three interceptions and a possible fumble, which will net you negative points.

In those games, when Romo has a game like where he turns the ball over, his Cowboys team loses.

It’s why in this week’s game against the Seattle Seahawks the Cowboys offense will not go through Romo, but through the running game led by DeMarco Murray.

Sit Romo this week if you have a good back up, like Eli Manning, or find someone on the waiver wire, like Matt Cassel.

Darren McFadden: RB, Oakland Raiders

McFadden was not going to be on my don’t start list, but then ESPN’s Adam Schefter sent out this tweet:

Yeah, no practice again today from that foot sprain that he hurt two weeks ago. Watch how McFadden and the Raiders treat this injury the rest of the week. But, for now start looking to your bench, or for a waiver pick up like, Javon Ringer.

Stevie Johnson: WR, Buffalo Bills

Stevie Johnson started out this season with amazing numbers, making him one of the best receivers in the NFL. Then he plateau in Week 4 which he has not been able to recover.

In his last four games, Johnson has one touchdown and two games where he finished with less than 40 yards.

This week, Stevie and the Bills play the New York Jets, with a trip to Revis Island, where receivers go to die.

Stay away from the Bills receiver and look for someone, anyone on the waiver wire.

Three players, in three skill positions that you must bench this week. If you do your team will succeed, resulting in a much needed win this week.
