NFL Week 9 Picks: Pegging Teams That Will Continute Their Losing Ways

Ryan PhillipsNov 2, 2011

This weekend there are three teams who will continue to prove we should have no faith in them moving forward this season. Week 9's slate of games have several matchups that are just flat-out bad for a few under-achieving teams.

Here are the games I see as the most likely to cause a few awful teams to keep losing.

Atlanta Falcons (4-3) at Indianapolis Colts (0-8)

The Colts play host to a Falcons team that seems to be figuring things out. While Indianapolis continues to sink further and further into obscurity, Atlanta is getting healthier and has started to work out some of the kinks offensively.

Expect the Colts to come out and keep things close early, but Matt Ryan, Michael Turner and company will run roughshod of Indianapolis' 31st ranked defense.

Miami Dolphins (0-7) at Kansas City Chiefs (4-3)

The Chiefs have won four straight after an 0-3 start and have a distinct advantage playing in front of their raucous fans at Arrowhead Stadium. Meanwhile, the Dolphins have suffered devastating come-from-ahead losses in consecutive weeks.

With Matt Moore at quarterback I just don't see Miami turning things around and getting on the winning track any time soon.

Kansas City 24, Miami 15

San Francisco 49ers (6-1) at Washington Redskins (3-4)

Remember way back a few weeks ago when the Redskins were inexplicably 3-1, on top of the world and needed bloggers to remind them that they were actually awful? Well, now we're apparently back to living in reality and Washington has dropped three straight games.

That trend will continue this weekend as Jim Harbaugh's San Francisco squad will waltz into the nation's capital and pound the 'Skins. The 49ers are rolling and possess a fantastic defense. Meanwhile, the Redskins are mediocre in all three phases and shouldn't trouble San Francisco in the least.
