WWE: Should Air Boom's Titles Be Stripped After Evan Bourne's Suspension?

The Doctor Chris MuellerNov 2, 2011

WWE.com reported earlier this week that Evan Bourne had been suspended due to a wellness policy violation. Many have speculated that it was synthetic marijuana that got him the suspension, but details are still up in the air.

My question is should Air Boom be stripped of the titles? I am not saying they should be stripped of the titles as a punishment, but to keep with WWE's continuity.

Even though this is not always the case, the WWE has stated numerous times in the past that a title must be defended every 30 days. With Air Boom having defended the titles a couple weeks ago, that would put them closer to 45 days without a defense once Bourne comes back.

I think the team should stay together, but I also think they should strip the titles from them and hold a mini-tournament to crown new champs, thus giving a new team that Air Boom can feud with when Bourne returns.

They could have Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger face The Usos and Awesome Truth face Tyler Reks and Curt Hawkins, with the winners of those matches facing each other at Survivor Series for the titles.

Obviously Truth and Miz already have a match so it would have to be between The Usos and Swagger and Ziggler.

This suspension could be bad for Bourne, as this is the best push he has had since debuting. Getting suspended right in the middle of a push has proved to be bad for people in the past.

I am a big fan of Bourne and Kofi. I think they bring something to WWE that the company doesn't have enough of, and that is fast-paced wrestling.

Bourne is the kind of wrestler who could probably never be a convincing heel and due to his size, he can never be a dominating babyface, so he is always the underdog.

Now, he may be the underdog more than ever because a wellness suspension almost always stops a push in its tracks. I hope that is not the case with Bourne.

Kofi is the real victim here, as he may suffer from Bourne's mistake. Unless the reason for the suspension is made public, I will not say if I think Bourne should be punished beyond the suspension. I will say that they should be stripped of the titles to give another tag team a chance to shine, even if it is juts until Bourne gets back.

I would love to see the Usos get a chance with the belts, and having Ziggler and Swagger hold them would make Ziggler the second person to hold the U.S. and tag titles at once.

What do you think? Should WWE strip Air Boom of the titles and give another team some time with the championship?
