Week 10 College Football Picks: Under-the-Radar Games to Bet Big
With the game of the year being played this week (LSU vs. Alabama), a lot of college football games are flying completely under the radar.
This is an ideal situation for gamblers looking for great value, as the public will be hammering the LSU vs. Bama game all week long and leaving some of the less publicized matchups alone.
Let’s take a look at some games you should bet this week.
Rutgers (+2.5) vs. USF
The Scarlet Knights and USF Bulls always play some pretty solid games, but Rutgers dominated the Bulls two years ago and lost by a single point last season.
I love Rutgers getting points at home against a rival like this—they should be able to win this game straight up.
USF is on a three-game losing streak to Big East teams and only has wins this season over Ball St, Florida A&M and UTEP—no real powerhouses there.
Rutgers has at least proven themselves against Navy, Pitt and Syracuse.
Texas Tech (+12) at Texas
The Chancellor’s Spurs are on the line this week, but both these teams are having down seasons and the game isn't as big a deal as it has been in years past.
The Longhorns have won the previous two matchups by 10 points and I could see that very well being the outcome once again this season.
I like Texas Tech in this game—they have the high-powered offense to keep the score within the spread or even to pull out a win, as they did against Oklahoma.
Navy (-6.5) vs. Troy
Navy is 1-6 this season but has played some good teams very close.
They have a three-point loss to South Carolina and a one-point loss to Rutgers on their record and constantly test themselves against some of the better teams in the country.
Troy is 2-4 but hasn’t played anyone. Navy is the toughest team they play this season and they are going to get dominated.
I think Navy is better than both Louisiana-Monroe and Louisiana-Lafayette, teams that defeated Troy by large margins.
