NHL's 15 Best Commentator "Whoops" Moments

The NHL has its share of hilarious, professional and entertaining commentators who help us watch and understand our favorite sport.

Sometimes, however, they take their passion of the game, or in some cases hatred for an opposing player or team, a bit too far.

Let's look at 15 crazy, unprofessional and "whoops" moments from NHL commentators.

What Did He Save That With?

Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Vesa Toskala makes a save with his glove, but the announcer says otherwise in a hilarious moment.

The Canadiens Win...Not

This was from last year's first-round series between the Bruins and Canadiens. Nathan Horton's winner in double overtime of Game 5 gave the Bruins a 3-2 lead, but apparently the announcer might have forgotten what building he's in.

Bruins fans wouldn't be cheering if the Canadiens went up 3-2 in the series.

Andy Brickley

Bruins color commentator Andy Brickley does his job as good as anyone, but in this moment he let a swear slip when he thought NESN was not live.

Maxim Afinogenov

Maxim Afinogenov does have an interesting name, but if you cannot pronounce it, at least ask your producer for help or something.

Jack Edwards Doesn't Like Benoit Pouliot

NESN's Jack Edwards is hilarious, but sometimes he's a bit strange. In this moment, he calls out Benoit Pouliot for being a big waste of talent.

A little unprofessional. 

When the Bruins signed Pouliot this summer, everyone thought of this moment.

Bob Errey

Bob Errey is a good commentator, but you can't say "suck on that" whether you are joking or not.

He Scores! Wait, No He Didn't

When someone scores in hockey, usually you can tell. Lights come on, a big horn goes off, etc.

Apparently, this announcer got a bit too excited and said the team scored when in fact they hadn't.

Darren Pang Is Not Happy

Sorry, Darren Pang, but the referee who made this call wasn't "4000" yards away. Bias and unprofessionalism all around.

Mike Milbury, Our Favorite Commentator

Mike Milbury says what's on his mind, and while that can be a good thing, other times he says things that should never leave his mouth.

Jack Edwards Says "Get Up!!!"

Did I mention Jack Edwards isn't a fan of the Montreal Canadiens? His "Get up" call was hilarious and a bit weird.

Sometimes I look forward to the intermissions not because I can go grab a snack from the kitchen, but I can listen to Mike Milbury say something hilarious.

Milbury called Vancouver Canucks forwards Henrik and Daniel Sedin "Thelma and Louise" during the Stanley Cup Final last year, essentially calling them soft.

Pierre McGuire Again

Talk about awkward—not only does Pierre McGuire say what he did, he did being so close to this guy which makes it work.

Give the guy a foot or two Pierre.

Don Cherry Ladies and Gentlemen

Don Cherry may be the most controversial hockey commentator in the NHL, and he often says things that get people upset.
