Dancing with the Stars: Soccer Star Hope Solo Lives to See Another Week
Hope Solo hasn't been the most pleasant person to ever take to the Dancing with the Stars stage. She has seemed frustrated at time with the judges' comments, yet she is mandated by the voting public to carry on for at least another week.
Dancing with the Stars is hitting the good portion of the season. The borderline couples will be sent home before they can ever sniff the ultimate prize.
On Tuesday, David Arquette was the latest celebrity to get the axe. The movie star had made giant strides in his form and looked like he may actually threaten to take the favorites down a notch or two.
It seems the voters just weren't interested in seeing if Arquette would indeed perfect his dancing performances. It's odd because while the judges have been kind to Hope Solo, I find that she is still as robotic in her form as day one.
You can judge for yourself as she dances to Monday's Halloween special here. Her arm lines and footwork is nowhere near as fluid as you would like at this stage.
Despite the issues Solo and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy have had with the judges, they continue to give the two some pretty good scores considering the flaws I've noticed.
And really, Solo could be doing better things with her time. She was recently called up to the national team for a mid-November friendly against Sweden.
You can bet that Solo was secretly hoping that Tuesday would be her last stint on Dancing with the Stars. The constant eye rolls and sighing have made it clear that Solo is not driven to win this season, nor should she.
She is a soccer star of the highest order. Duty calls which makes her dancing pale in importance. We will see Solo again next week. But I don't think we or the nation are very interested in that prospect.
