North Carolina Carrier Classic Uniforms: New Exotic Camo Jerseys Set the Bar

With all the attention given to college football uniforms in 2011, it’s now college basketball’s turn to wow the fashion critics.

North Carolina and Michigan State will be wearing camouflaged uniforms for the Carrier Classic game against Michigan State on Nov. 11 in San Diego.

Not only is it going to be a highly competitive early season contest, it’s a unique game because it will be played on an aircraft carrier on Veteran’s Day, as they put a spotlight on the American military.

The North Carolina unis will be mostly sky blue with white stripes going down the sides. It looks incredibly cool. The color contrast is very unique and I can already envision the thousands upon thousands of replicas they will sell to the public.

This is better than anything the Oregon Ducks have done.

The best part about the duds is the originality involved without doing too much. In a way there is a ton of stuff going on with the color schemes, yet it still is a pretty straightforward design that doesn’t compromise the classic look of the most famous uniform in college basketball.

One distinct part of the Tar Heels jersey will be the lack of player names of the back. Instead "U.S.A" will appear above the numbers where the player names would typically be located. There will also be an American flag on the shoulder on the front of each jersey.

The Michigan State jerseys aren’t bad, but they are a little too gray for my tastes. They pale in comparison to the Tar Heels'.
