WWE Monday Night Raw: The Rock Agrees to Team with John Cena at Survivor Series
It’s official: The Rock will team up with John Cena to take on The Miz and R-Truth at Survivor Series.
Last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw opened up with a pre-recorded promo from The Rock, who initially teased that he wouldn’t accept Cena’s offer to be his tag team partner. The Rock said “Hell no” multiple times before changing his tune and agreeing to work the match, and I have to admit that I was actually fooled at first.
For a second there, I thought that WWE officials were having second thoughts on placing The Rock in a match, and thus, they decided to have him turn down Cena. He still could have appeared at the pay-per-view or worked in some sort of match, but he would have stayed away from Cena.

But no, that didn’t wind up being the case after all.
The Rock and Cena will indeed join forces. Never before. Never again.
Now, the WWE brass have to turn their attention to how they’ll book both men at the pay-per-view. You obviously don’t want to have The Rock squashing anyone—whether it’s The Miz, Truth or Cena—because he’s not a full-time wrestler anymore, but he didn’t agree to return to the company to put others over.
So, what do you do? Do you have The Rock screw Cena and allow Truth and Miz to get the victory? Or vice versa?
I’m not sure which way the creative team will go, but they do have a golden opportunity here to give Cena a much needed change in character. He doesn’t need to turn heel like many of us want him to, he just needs to alter his extremely stale gimmick that’s been pretty much the same over the last five years.
Cena’s feud—and brief pairing—with The Rock will give him a chance to drop all the corny PG crap and develop an edge against one of the edgiest wrestlers in WWE history.
