Pacquiao vs. Marquez 3: Pacman's Domination Will Fuel PED Talk by Mayweather
Manny Pacquiao will knockout Juan Marquez and leave himself open for more PED accusations from Floyd Mayweather in the process.
The Accusations
He has often insinuated that Pacquiao uses performance enhancers in quotes like these from ibtimes.com:
""A guy don't all of a sudden get to be 24 or 25 and become great."
"I know what happens in this sport. A guy don't all of the sudden get to a certain age and just become good. Certain years, where was this guy at? He all of the sudden just pop up, become good and just punching hard out of the blue? C'mon, man. Make this make sense."
"I talk to Mosley. Mosley is a guy who in the past has used enhancement drugs or whatever you want to call it. I talked to him, after his fight (with Pacquiao). He said, Floyd, if I was you, I'd make him take the test,"
"
More Fuel
This is Pacquiao and Marquez' third fight. The first was a draw and the second was a split-decision victory for Pacquiao.
They haven't fought in nearly four years.
Over the course of two fights, these two were as evenly matched. 24 rounds of boxing, and neither fighter had a clear advantage over the other.
Pacquiao is going to use a right hand that is worlds better than the last time these two met to destroy Marquez.
He will knock him out early, only giving Mayweather more ammunition for his PED attack in the process.
Conclusion
There are other factors at play here. The most notable is age. Marquez is now 38, while Manny is about to turn 33.
These fighters are at an age where you would expect a much steeper decline in skills in Marquez.
However, details like this certainly won't stop Mayweather or anyone else that wants to make these accusations.
Pacquiao's lawsuit of Floyd for making these accusations may stop him, but I'd be shocked if Mayweather—who likes to talk—didn't bring this up in some fashion.
