WWE News: Former Divas Champion Michelle McCool Returning to the Company?
The worst-kept secret maybe in all of professional wrestling is that WWE officials could absolutely care less about the Divas division.
We’ve seen glimpses of hope—such as the signing of Awesome Kong (a.k.a. Kharma) and the pairing of Beth Phoenix and Natalya—but all in all, the state of women’s wrestling is nowhere near where it used to be.
The WWE relies too much on models rather than women who were actually trained to wrestle, and as a result, it’s forced us to watch the likes of Kelly Kelly, the Bella Twins and Eve in the Divas Championship picture.

The company seems to be realizing, however, that it needs to reinvigorate the Divas division and it reportedly reached out to a former Divas Champion recently about returning to the company.
"As we reported last week, The Undertaker and Michelle McCool visiting backstage at Monday’s RAW Supershow from Texas.
Word is that WWE officials approached McCool about returning to the ring in the near future.
"
I was never the biggest fan of Michelle McCool because I found her voice to be incredibly annoying and she dominated the Divas division for far too long while teaming with Layla as “Laycool.” But any experienced Diva who can actually wrestle can only help the WWE at this point.
After the recent releases of Maryse and Melina, the company is really struggling to put on even halfway decent Diva feuds and perhaps McCool could breathe some life into the division.
She’s only 31 years old, she’s an above average wrestler and her time away from the ring may have been just what she needed to come back better than ever.
At least I hope so, because I don’t think I can watch the Sisters of Salvation face Eve or Kelly Kelly for the next six months.
