Peyton Hillis has face more controversy over the last six weeks than most players do in a whole year, and missing practice will do nothing to stop the negative talk surrounding him.

Cleveland Browns beat writer for the Akron Beacon Journal Nate Ulrich is reporting about Peyton Hillis’ lack of participation in practice:

Hillis was a higher draft pick in almost every league and he has been the picture of disappointment so far. You should hold on to him in case he regains his form for the fantasy playoffs because trading him won’t get you much at this point.

Not much has changed for Hillis as the next practice week begins. The Browns are still taking a cautious approach with their star running back even though the offense has struggled mightily without him taking some pressure off Colt McCoy.

Hillis will need to make more progress this week than he has over the past two if he plans on playing on Sunday. The early update isn't good, but there's still some time to heal.

News is not good for Hillis or fantasy owners. Mary Kay Cabot is reporting that Hillis injured himself in practice.

This does not bode well for his chances at playing.

Friday, Nov. 4 at 1:11 p.m. EDT

Mary Kay Cabot reported that Hillis will go in for an MRI to see how bad the injury really was.

Obviously, the news of the MRI will be important. But right now, I wouldn't plan on Hillis producing for fantasy owners or the Browns in 2011.

UPDATE: Friday, Nov. 4 at 4:02 p.m. EDT

Mary Kay Cabot reported that Hillis will miss a few weeks of action.

This has just been a bad year for Hillis. The good news for Cleveland is that he's either been out or completely ineffective all year, so this won't be a big adjustment.
