Felix Jones Injury: Updates on Cowboys Star's Week 9 Status and Fantasy Value
The Dallas Cowboys entered the season with every intention of giving Felix Jones the starting running back job, and he held it down for the first four weeks of the season. But an ankle injury, combined with the emergence of DeMarco Murray, have left his status with the team up in the air.
Even if Jones is able to return in Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks, it is doubtful that he will be given his starting job back. He could be a change-of-pace running back or a third-down specialist for the remainder of the season.
We will have the latest information on Jones' status for Week 9 throughout the week, so check back to this page for all the news about the Cowboys running back as it becomes available.

DeMarco Murray has been a great fill-in for the Cowboys whiles Jones is out, but it's uncertain what will happen once Jones does return. Jones was asked by the Star-Telegram about whether or not he'd return next week and he responded with "we'll see."
That's they typical answer for most injured stars, but do take note of what head coach Jason Garrett said to reporters as well.
"I think everyone understands that you need more than one back in this league, and each of those guys will have a role when Felix comes back, and hopefully we’ll put them in the best position where they can help us the most."
"
For now, Murray looks to be a strong bet to start in Week 9, but his production will definitely decrease once Jones is healthy. It's still up to Jones to produce and make the most of carries, but the fact that Garrett already stated he plans to use both puts a damper on Murray's value for the second half of the season.
At this point, it would be wise to hold onto Murray since he's playing very well, but you'll have to access this situation once Jones returns.

While we won't know anything official about Felix Jones until later in the week, ESPN Dallas is reporting that it has not yet been determined if he will even start practicing.
"It has not been determined if Felix Jones will return to action this week vs. the Seattle Seahawks. He's expected to miss two-to-four weeks with a high left ankle sprain. Jones a walking boot taken off his leg last Monday and it's unknown if he'll practice this week.
"
Considering that the team released Tashard Choice before last week's game against the Eagles, I would imagine they are expecting Jones back sooner rather than later.
