Missouri to the SEC: Mizzou Chancellor Cancels Trip, SEC Decision Could Be Next

It's a new day, and more conference realignment news has broken. What a surprise. Since West Virginia has been accepted to join the Big 12, many believed that Missouri was on their way out and the SEC was the most likely destination. 

Missouri chancellor Brady Deaton has cancelled his nine-day trip to India, which was supposed to begin tomorrow. Many were expecting a decision on Missouri's status after the trip, which would have come to an end Nov. 10. 

Now it appears that since the trip has been canceled, we can probably expect a decision sometime probably this week. 

The AP writes that "the chancellor won't go so he can deal with other duties in his office that are more important."

Obliviously, those duties that are more important have to do with the status of Missouri and where it will end up calling home.

Missouri was given permission to explore other options and it appears it has been locked in on the SEC. The Tigers have been looking to leave the unstable conference ever since the Big 12 has lost three members in the past year.

The SEC seems to be interested, considering they have just added Texas A&M and would more than likely need another team to add so the conference would have an even 14 teams. Last week, the SEC website had posted that Missouri was already a member of the SEC, only to be taken down a few minutes later. 

We should be expecting news a lot sooner than expected.
