Report: Kim Kardashian to Divorce Kris Humphries

Kim Kardashian is set to divorce husband Kris Humphries, according to TMZ. Rumors that have been circulating for weeks appear to have some merit, as the gossip website reports Kardashian cited "irreconcilable differences” as the reason for splitting.

Kardashian and Humphries had a summer wedding that was broken into a two-night television special, but rumors of the pair's demise quickly surfaced. Humphries is an NBA star that is currently enduring the league's lockout.

The two met after Kardashian noticed Humphries during one of his games. It was apparently love at first sight, but not until death do them part. The entire situation will surely play a prominent role in the family's ongoing television series, Keeping up with the Kardashians.

TMZ's report says Kardashian made sure there was a prenuptial agreement, which means she should avoid losing any of her massive fortunate built up from reality shows and endorsements. If the papers are filed today, the marriage would have lasted less than 100 days.

Kardashian was previously married to Damon Thomas from 2000-04.

Sadly, the entire situation wreaks of a publicity stunt from Kardashian, who is always looking for a way to remain in the news. Her only purpose is remaining relevant and the wedding certainly made that possible as people flocked to watch the summer's most-hyped TV event.

While it's impossible to tell someone's true intentions, there did appear to be come tension building between the two when they made an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Kardashian didn't appear happy with the loose-lipped Humphries.

If the report is true, it probably won't be long before the E! Network starts running promos for the break-up episodes, which are sure to score big ratings for the channel. You would pray that had no influence on any decisions made by Kardashian or Humphries.

But, with that family, you can never be quite sure.
