Pacquiao vs. Marquez: Pac-Man Will Use His Potent Right Hand to KO Marquez
Las Vegas is all about the biggest and the best, and the knockout of Juan Manuel Marquez at the hands of WBO Welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao will be the fireworks Sin City loves.
As a left-handed fighter, the idea of Pacquiao knocking anyone out, especially someone as tough as Marquez, with a right hand is absurd? Right?
While it’s contrary to popular belief, Pac-Man’s improved right hand will be the undoing of Marquez in their title fight because of what it does to JMM’s game plan. Increased speed and power in his right hand will not only cause damage on its own, it will open up spots for Manny to hit Marquez with the left cross.
Pacquiao told the UK Telegraph about his increased confidence in his right hand and what he expects from Marquez in this fight:
"I want to end all the questions he has raised about who won our past fights and who the better fighter is. The years between each fight have made it more interesting. Which of us has improved more? I have improved a lot. I am a more complete fighter than when we fought previously. I am now a two-fisted fighter.
My right is as potent, as powerful and as dangerous as my left. I have as much confidence in my right as I do in my left. Another difference between Marquez and me is that since our second fight, I have challenged bigger opponents with a lot more success than he has. This will be an exciting fight because our styles make for exciting fights. He likes to fight toe-to-toe as I do. We both like action and to engage our opponents.
"
In the first two fights of this rivalry, Marquez was coming in as a serious contender, but this fight has the feel of a star in Manny Pacquiao who is at the peak of his career while Marquez is a falling star.
With Pac-Man training as intensely as he ever has for a fight, this will not only be a knockout victory for Pacquiao, but this will send a stiff message to Floyd Mayweather that it’s now or never.
People fail to see that Manny Pacquiao has built a life outside boxing, and he will go out on top no matter what happens with Mayweather. Pac-Man will go to his home country and stay a hero by serving the country as a public official and fighting Mayweather doesn’t make-or-break his life.
There won’t be much left for Pacquiao to prove when he knocks Marquez out, and this is Manny’s time to send a message directed at Mayweather.
