Tim Tebow Experiment Should End In Denver

T.J. McaloonOct 31, 2011

Denver Broncos fans, say it with me, “Suck for Luck......Suck for Luck.....Suck for Luck.”

Can we finally put an end to the Tim Tebow experiment? It’s only been two games this year, with Tebow as the starter, with a 1-1 record, but in those two games, the Broncos have played some horrible.

Go ahead and point to the Miami Dolphins win, where Tebow was a focal point in the comeback. Let me hear how Tebow rallied the troops in the last minutes, to force overtime after playing an awful first 55 minutes of football.

Go ahead and tell me that it’s been two games, and that we should give him more time.

But the NFL now is not a “Let’s see how this pans out” type of league. If you do not win now, you are replaced. It happened to Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton and now it should happen to Tebow, as this Broncos team should be 0-2 with Tim as the starter.

The only time that a quarterback can get a pass for losing games, is a situation like Cam Newton in Carolina. Newton is playing very well, giving his team ample amount of chances to win the game, but his team still finds ways to lose.

However, in Tebow’s case, in two games he has done little to lead his team to victory.

If Miami recovers an onside kick two weeks ago, that “epic” comeback that was being talked about and led to the craze that was “Tebowing” does not happen.

If that happens, the story is about how Tebow missed on over half of his throws, while only throwing one touchdown.

Yesterday, we saw what happens with this Denver team plays another team that has an offense that forces Tebow to orchestrate a successful offense.

Tebow failed once again, struggling to complete more than half of his throws, with 172 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception, plus a fumble that was returned for a touchdown.

After the game, Broncos’ head coach John Fox went onto local programing in Denver to say that he isn’t sure who the Broncos starter will be next week. Furthermore, cornerback Champ Bailey says that this team is “bad, really bad.”

Tim Tebow is a great story, he’s a great person and should be a role model for a lot of people in life.

However, good stories and people do not win you football games all the time. The NFL is all about winning, and as long as Tebow is their starting quarterback, they will not be winning a lot of games.
