Carlos Tevez: 5 Possible Destinations for Manchester City Striker in January
Where will Carlos Tevez go?
Only two months remain until the world football transfer window reopens and when it does, everybody knows Argentinean forward Carlos Tevez will leave Manchester City.
But no one really knows where he'll go.
We have a few guesses, though, and we have all the links ready to show you why.
1. Corinthians
1 of 5Club: Corinthians
Country: Brazil
What's up: Corinthians seem to be the front runner in the Tevez chase.
It's gotten to the point where they're negotiating over the transfer fee in the press.
The club's sporting director says no bid has been made, but the president says otherwise.
This much is sure: some talks have occurred.
A move back to Brazil would make sense. Tevez played for Corinthians from 2004-06.
He also played for Argentina's Boca Juniors from 2001-04. They expressed interest as well but abandoned the deal.
Odds: This makes a lot of sense. Tevez would obviously benefit from a return to South America, where he'd feel at home and be able to keep his family happy as well. He played at Corinthians before he was a world star, so why not make a dramatic homecoming? 2-to-1.
2. Napoli
2 of 5Club: Napoli
Country: Italy
What's up: Napoli have emerged only lately as a serious contender. The plan would be to swap Tevez for Napoli striker Ezequiel Lavezzi.
City showed interest in Lavezzi over the summer.
Odds: The chances here are better than you think. Napoli have burst onto the scene as perhaps the top European option. Wages would be an issue, but if Tevez would take a wage cut, Napoli could probably go past £100,000 per week. 5-to-1
3. Real Madrid
3 of 5Club: Real Madrid
Country: Spain
What's up: Real Madrid seemed like a front runner for Tevez's signature not too long ago, but the trail has gone cold.
Odds: The odds of Tevez making a move to Real are not great. Real have plenty of attacking talent. They might also want to go for a younger South American called Neymar during the transfer window. Never rule out Real and big-money moves, though. 10-to-1.
4. Inter Milan
4 of 5Club: Inter Milan
Country: Italy
What's up: Tevez was linked with a move to Inter at the beginning of October.
The rumours resurfaced more recently, with Maicon being touted as a possible swap target.
Odds: Decent, but still improbable that a deal will be done. Inter doesn't want to pay full price. They can, like Napoli and Real, offer Tevez Champions League football. Will it be enough? We don't think so. 50-to-1.
5. Tottenham Hotspur
5 of 5Club: Tottenham Hotspur
Country: England
What's up: Haggling Harry Redknapp has said Spurs would love to sign Tevez, if only they could afford him.
Odds: They can't afford it, nor does Tevez want to stay in chilly, grey England. 100-to-1.
