10 Fighters You Want by Your Side During an Alien Invasion

Here’s the scenario.

You’re sitting at home and you flip on the news.

CNN is reporting that alien spacecrafts have landed and they aren’t exactly coming in peace. In fact, they are killing everyone.

But being the MMA fan that you are, you happen to have a bunch of fighters on speed dial.

You can choose 10 guys to come with you and help you kick some serious alien a**. Who do you choose?

Do you go with raw power and strength, or do you opt for technique and quickness?

These are the tough questions, and there is no right or wrong answer, but I will attempt to make picks from all different angles in this slideshow.

Brian Stann

Key Attribute: Natural Leader

It’s always good to have a military man on the squad, and when you have a chance to get a distinguished soldier like Brian Stann, you don’t ask questions.

Stann would be the undisputed leader of the team, and would likely die in the end; largely due to the fact that’s how it always seems to go.

Tim Kennedy

Key Attribute: Firearms Expert

The second in command, Kennedy is also a military man and would be extremely beneficial to the crew.

While we have some other guys who know how to shoot, Kennedy is still currently active in the US Army—as an Army Ranger no less—and would be the perfect No. 2 behind Stann.

Joe Lauzon

Key Attribute: Intelligence, Computer Skills

I’m not sure if aliens would be easy to submit, but Joe Lauzon would be valuable for various reasons.

Remember in Independence Day how they had to use a virus to take out the alien ships?

Well, with a background in the field, Lauzon would be the guy to use his computer skills to take out the invaders.

Brock Lesnar

Key Attibute: Power

Borck Lesnar is one of the meanest-looking individuals alive, and his MMA skill set may end up being beneficial if aliens are small and susceptible to takedowns.

Lesnar is mostly on the list for intimidation purposes, but his love of hunting may also help if we end up having to break out the shotguns.

Shane Carwin

Key Attribute: Power, Intelligence

I’ll be honest—Shane Carwin is on here for pretty much the same reasons as Lesnar.

However, Carwin is also an engineer and would be able to use his knowledge and intelligence to help the group in a variety of ways.

Plus he would be part of the ultimate team if we were to send him out there with Lesnar to start destroying the invaders.

Chris Leben

Key Attribute: Crazy

You always need that guy in the crew who is completely insane, and since Junie Browning is unavailable, I’m going with Chris Leben.

You need someone to go and try and fight 15 aliens by themselves while you move from point A to point B? Leben’s your man.

He may end up biting off more than he can chew eventually, but he would definitely be a valuable asset to the team.

Chael Sonnen

Key Attribute: Articulate, Diplomatic

Before we start shooting and making a mess of things, we should probably make sure that the aliens are actually here to fight.

Maybe they were just misunderstood and need someone to explain what is going on.

Chael Sonnen is the guy to communicate with them, because it will either end in world peace or Sonnen will unleash an extremely painful verbal assault they have never never endured before.

Demetrious Johnson

Key Attribute: Speed

If I have a huge group of aliens coming after me and there are guns on the other side of the room, I want someone extremely fast with me to go and collect those guns.

So Demetrious Johnson brings the speed to the group.

Johnson is one of the fastest fighters in MMA and he is small enough to slip through large groups unnoticed, which would help immensely in recon missions.

Forrest Griffin

Key Attribute: Knowledge, Comic Relief

Forrest Griffin wrote an entire book about trying to survive in end-of-the-world situations, so he obviously has thought about these things enough to be valuable.

Forrest would be a killing machine, but he would also crack jokes in the process to helping to put the group more at ease.

Frankie Edgar

Key Attribute: Heart

If this is a movie, Frankie Edgar is the main character.

He doesn’t have one specific trait that makes him stand out, but he will be the Swiss army knife of the group, constantly adapting to the situation at hand and surprising the other members with his versatility and value.

If I had to choose any one member to survive, it’s Edgar due to his resiliency.
