BCS Rankings 2011: Boise State Will Not Make Another Top 5 Appearance This Year
After dropping out of the Top 5 of the BCS rankings after doing nothing but sitting at home watching the college football action on a bye week, Boise State won't make another appearance in the Top 5 for the rest of the season.
It is a shame that a football program with so much talent and a winning tradition cannot break through with the voters and computers alike because they supposedly play teams that are far less superior to those ahead of them.
Every team has their cupcake games and their name making ones, but since Boise State is in the Mountain West Conference, they get no love from the BCS.
It is the story of their recent college football life. Boise State beats everyone in their path and they get the consolation BCS games, even though they have deserved at least one shot at the BCS title game, but to no avail.
With all the conference shifting going on, it looks like that Boise State's best bet is to abandon ship at the Mountain West and join a conference that has an automatic qualifying spot.
An automatic qualifying spot will give them a leg up before a single play is played that season.
