WWE News: Maryse Delivers Statement Regarding WWE Release
As you may have heard, the WWE has released now former Diva Maryse Oullet. This sent some shock-waves through the WWE Universe, especially to the male demographic.
As surprising as this release may have seemed, it was all but imminent, due to her lack of TV time over the past six months or so.
Maryse, like most Divas, has been sorely misused this year and essentially booted to WWE's D-show, NXT. She may have been the focal point of the show for several months. However, that is like being the best player for the worst team. It's only a matter of time before you fade into obscurity.

Needless to say, Maryse wasted no time in reaching out to her fans via her website, stating:
"After six fantastic years with the WWE, I’ve decided to move on and begin the next chapter of my life. Thank you to all of my fans, colleagues and the WWE Universe.
Living in Los Angeles, I look forward to continuing my career in entertainment and creating new and exciting content!

"
Judging by that statement alone, it appears Maryse may have followed suit with Gail Kim and simply asked for her release. I guess time will tell as more stories surface over the next week on whether Maryse chose her exit or was given her walking papers. Either way, the Diva's Division appears to be headed towards extinction.
This is nothing new, as the WWE's Women's/Diva's division has seen its ups and downs since its inception.
As many of you may remember, the Women's title was put on a two-and-a-half year hiatus after Alundra Blaze aka Madusa took off with the title and headed to WCW in 1995.
Then, in the late '90s, the Diva's division came out full-force, as a new breed of women wrestlers surfaced and breathed some life into the once-fledgling women's roster.
So fans, stay tuned as this may not be the end of Maryse or the Diva's Division.
