Chris Johnson Rewards Titans for His Huge Deal with Disgusting Lack of Effort

Chris Johnson was paid by the Titans and he decided to call it a career. You could say he took the money and ran, but as this fan tweeted, that is certainly not the case here.

The Deal

Johnson signed an extension just prior to the start of the season. The extension gave him a $10 million signing bonus and a $3 million guaranteed base for this year. It is for four years.

The Results

The results have not been pretty. Let's take a look at his stats.

Fans were forgiving at first, as they were chalking it up to Johnson needing to play himself into football shape after holding out for his deal.

As the lackluster results have continued and the season has gone on, fans are less willing to forgive Johnson.

The Titans' 27-10 win over the Colts appears to have left the Chris Johnson bandwagon void of supporters. Johnson was completely outrun and outworked by his backfield mate, Javon Ringer.

They both had 14 carries, but Ringer gained 60 yards, while C.J. only gained 34.

Johnson is not running with the same purpose. This has nothing to do with conditioning and everything to do with heart.

Chris Johnson was paid, and he lost the intense drive required for success in the NFL. I doubt he will ever be able to recapture that intensity even if he wanted to.

The Titans will cut Johnson from this deal long before it reaches its conclusion.
