Fantasy Football Week 8: Matthew Stafford and Other Last-Minute Starts

Andrew KulhaOct 30, 2011

You still have time to make some rather aggressive changes to your fantasy football lineup.

The afternoon games haven't started yet, which means you can still switch some roster spots around in order to get optimal points in your matchup.

There are quite a few questionable players and starts coming up in the afternoon games, but not all of them are bad ideas.

Here are a few fantasy options that you still have time to make:

Matthew Stafford, QB Detroit Lions

Stafford has been questionable leading up to the Lions' matchup with the Broncos, but it seems as if he is going to play. He's going to be a very good start going against a Broncos defense that shouldn't be able to stop the Lions' passing game.

Maurice Morris, RB Detroit Lions

Morris is another Lion that's a great start considering that Jahvid Best is going to be out. Without Best, the Lions are going to feed Morris most of the running plays. They are going to want to at least try to establish a running game, so look for Morris to get some good numbers.

Michael Vick, QB Philadelphia Eagles

Michael Vick is due for a good day. We haven't seen a vintage Michael Vick performance all year, and he should have a good matchup against a Dallas defense that will over-commit to being aggressive upfield. That will open up running lanes for him, which will, in turn, help his passing game.
